The Department of Pulmonary medicine was started in GIMS in June 2019 with the vision of addressing respiratory system related health issues . Our country has seen a very steep progress in last 20 years making health facilities not just available but also affordable to the common people. Life is not just about breathing , but it also means breathing in life , energy , and emancipating the joy of living and giving our best in all possible ways. Many a times we are unaware of our own wellness and keep on lingering with the little discomforts , infirmity and disinterest with the surroundings ,until we realize something grossly wrong has happened that can not be reverted . Smoking, occupational lung hazards, allergic lung diseases, sleep related problems , discomfort in breathing due to non infectious conditions are similar such problems which go un noticed for long and when one becomes aware of such condition it is already late.
Our mission is to provide best patient care with concern and compassion at affordable cost . We provide not just patient care for all spectrum of pulmonary and related diseases but also counsel patients regarding prevention and other causes of concern. We are extremely thankful to our patients both outpatients and to the critically ill, whose problems inspire our research efforts and whose experiences serve as our classroom.
